Transfer Students

You are considered a transfer student if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • graduated from high school and
  • earned credits from another college or university

If you have earned less than 12 transferable credit hours at the college or university level, you will also be required to submit materials required for incoming freshman students.

If you plan to take courses at WSU for one semester and then transfer the credits earned at WSU back to your home institution, you do not need to apply as a transfer student. You are considered a guest student.

Transfer Students with International Credentials
If you are a transfer student with credentials from outside the US, regardless of your citizenship or immigration status, please be sure to review the WSU English Proficiency Requirements in addition to admission requirements.

Transfer Thursdays
If you are thinking about transferring to Wayne State, come visit our Welcome Center during our Transfer Thursdays and talk with us. There you will be able to meet with admissions counselors and academic advisors.
